The job announcement is officially open for the Assistant Coastal Planner position. This position will work with me to complete the 2017-2018 FEMA Coordinating Technical Partnership scope of work – focused on supporting the improvement of statewide hazard management along our coast, including flooding, erosion, landslides, and tsunamis. Responsibilities include collaboration with the interagency Risk Mapping, Assessment, and Planning (Risk MAP) team to understand coastal hazards and develop strategies to reduce risk. This position also conducts research to provide mitigation options for communities through the collection and dissemination of best practices.
