Kayla is dedicated to environmental activism via creative outlets such as poetry and spoken word. In her studies, she intersects her interest in environmental psychology with activism to develop a narrative as to how a relationship with nature can inspire action. A semester abroad in Australia has taught Kayla the many actions that individuals can take towards sustainability, whether individual action, communication, community organizing, or political organizing. Accompanying her learning about these avenues of action was her vast exposure to Tasmanian forests and their ongoing destruction. Upon returning, her Senior Project aims to inspire individuals and communities to speak out about issues similar to these in fighting towards a sustainable future.
