Carolyn Hartman is pursuing a dual degree in CEP with a focus in environmental education and Environmental Science and Resource Management (ESRM). She is currently pursuing two senior projects, one in the Sharon Doty lab, researching nitrogen fixation by microbial endophytes in tomato and rice plants and the effects of endophytes on drought tolerance in rice plants. The other, creating a curriculum that incorporates the art of photography and outdoor environmental education in Seattle public classrooms. Carolyn spent her summer working as an Environmental Educator at Discovery Park and enjoys teaching kids about science! Outside of academia and work, Carolyn enjoys hiking, climbing, and guiding white water rafts.
