Christian Read started his education in architecture and then engineering before finding his way into CEP. Though he still remains fascinated by the physical form of the built environment, his interests and strengths align more with the communities that occupy those environments. His work experience includes management with contractors, hotel hospitality, and being a commute options team member with UW transportation services. In his capstone senior project, Christian hopes to investigate the design and policy decisions regarding the intersection of placemaking and public street performance. This project idea ties in with Christian’s biggest extra-curricular activity, performing on trombone as a section leader with the Husky Marching Band. In his free time outside of the classroom, you may find him drawing, writing, practicing trombone, cooking, or playing board games.
