Pronouns: she/her/hers

Hometown: Gig Harbor, WA

Focus: Architecture and Sustainable Development

Bio: I grew up in Gig Harbor, Washington, with my three siblings and dog, Koa. When I first applied to University of Washington, I was an intended physics major. But, after a year of physics and calculus classes, I realized that this path was not one I wanted to follow. I have had a passion for integrating sustainability into systems and after exploring a variety of classes, I fell in love with the concept of urban design. Having traveled to both Europe and South America, I was in awe of the wide range of what it means to experience a city and its community. As a junior in CEP, my focus has narrowed to sustainable architectural design and urban political geography. I currently serve as the UW Chapter President for the National Society of Leadership and Success. I have a passion for volunteer work and working with people in a variety of settings, my most recent one being at the Wallingford Community Senior Center. Once the pandemic restrictions are safely lifted, I look forward to getting back into more volunteer work and serving my local community.

Favorite Place in Seattle: T-Mobile Park (RIP Safeco Field)

Why did you choose CEP? I chose CEP because of the interdisciplinary, self-guided approach that it offers. My academic career path has been all over the place, and CEP gives me the structure to focus my interests while also allowing me to take a variety of diverse classes. The community is built on motivated and community-oriented students, providing a welcoming and encouraging learning environment that will jumpstart my path after graduation.

Hobbies/Extracurriculars: I love to play guitar and piano, run, box, scuba dive, travel, and volunteer! I’m the UW chapter president of Sigma Alpha Pi (NSLS).

Favorite thing to do over quarantine? I’ve loved the extra time to do little things that I’ve always wanted to do more, such as handwriting letters to people and reading non-school books.

Favorite Movie: Mary Poppins

Favorite Food: Grilled salmon

Favorite Song: Impossible by Nothing But Thieves
